Ruth COPES Obituary
She is predeceased by her husband, James E. Copes.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura and son-in-law, Tom Pace of Raleigh; a brother, Larry Joseph Bauguess of Wilkes County; a grandson, two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.
Ruth was born in Traphill Community, Wilkes County, N.C., on May 5, 1926, and attended Wilkes County schools. She lived in Newport News, Va., and North Wilkesboro, N.C., before moving to Raleigh in 2001. Ruth previously worked in Customer Service for AT&T.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, in the Chapel at Trinity Baptist Church with visitation to follow.

Laura, I was so sorry to read about the loss of your mother. I remember her well and always thought a lot of her. I also did not know that your dad died last year. Again Barry and I are so sorry about your losses. I know what a difficult time it is.

To Ruth's family, please accept my sincere condolences during this time of loss and sorrow. I met Ruth and Jimmy years ago through Doris and Gean Reynolds, who where my in-laws at the time. I have many happy memories of both of them, fun times we shared together. They were both wonderful people and I pray that they are at peace and that the family will, in time, be comforted by their memories.
