Ruth HOBBS Obituary

EMPORIA - Ruth Robbins Hobbs, 85, of Emporia, widow of Charles Hobbs, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy H. Gordon and husband, Russ of Emporia and Beth Price and husband, Larry of Smithfield, Va.; three grandchildren, David Watkins and wife, Linda of Emporia, Robbin Price of Smithfield and Rebecca W. Owen and husband, Frank of Stony Creek; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Jacob, Travis, Krista, Robert and Jesse.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Va. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Emporia. An interment service will follow at 3 p.m. at St. Luke's Cemetery, Smithfield, Va.

HOW THE MEMORIES FLOODED MY MIND OF ALL OF THE GOOD TIMES, WHEN WE WERE GROWING UP IN RED POINT HEIGHTS.YOUR MOTHER WAS SO SWEET, AND HAD A SMILE OF HER OWN, THAT MADE YOU FEEL WELCOME.I'M SORRY TO HEAR OF HER PASSING, AND WISH TO EXTEND MY HEARTFELT SYMPATHY.
