Sabrina DRAKE Obituary

CHESAPEAKE - On May 27, 2010, God called for one of his angels to return home.
Sabrina Lee Sumler Drake was born Jan. 12, 1963, to Antinie L. Sumler and Evelyn T. Sumler.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Llyod Turner Sr. and Louise Urquhart Diggs; and paternal grandparents, Antinie L. Sumler, Sr. and Ada G. Sumler; two uncles, James and Daniel Smith; and two aunts, Alease Sumler and Esther L. Sumler.
Sabrina is a 1981 graduate of Sussex Central High School. She was a woman of many trades, if it could be done, she could do it. One of the things Sabrina loved most were kids and the joy of taking care of them.
Sabrina leaves to cherish her memories, a husband, Robert Drake Jr., of Chesapeake, Va.; son, Herbert D. Sumler and daughter, Herbrisha E. Sumler, of Norfolk, Va.; both parents, Antinie L. Sumler and Evelyn T. Sumler of Wakefield, Va.; father-in-law, Robert Drake Sr., of Chesapeake, Va.; three sisters, Ivory J. Johnson of Portsmouth, Va., Towando M. Price and Regina D. Drew of Wakefield, Va.; three brothers, Charles A. Sumler (Dinell), Antinie L. Sumler III, and Stephen T. Sumler all of Wakefield, Va.; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law of Chesapeake, Va., three nieces, two nephews, and one devoted nephew, Eric R. Stith Jr., three great-nieces and two great-nephews, all of Wakefield, Va.; a devoted uncle, Dwight Seward (Phyllis) of Chesapeake, Va.; two devoted cousins, Lamont Taylor (Tonya) of North Carolina and Jackie Sumler of Norfolk, Va.; and a devoted friend, Herbert White, of Norfolk, Va.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services will be noon on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Pocahontas Temple Baptist Church, Wakefield, with the Rev. Lewis Allen, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Urquhart Family Cemetery, Wakefield, Va.

Aunt Brina your spirit is not gone and you will definitely never be forgotten. The struggle continues and the fight will be won. We will persevere and Brisha and I will continue to advocate for the voiceless in a attempt to bring more awareness to the various types of cancer. Love you always and "Girl, let me tell you" you are a true angel. Missing my Aunt Brina!!!
