Sadie JETER Obituary
She was born in Newberry, S.C., and lived in Newport News, Va., until her health failed in 2002. She was employed by the City of Newport News until her retirement in 1981.
Mrs. Jeter was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Jeter; and sons, Grady and Larry Jeter.
She is lovingly survived by her two sons, Jimmie Jeter (Ellen) of Hampton, Va., and Barry Jeter (Yvette) of McDonald, Ga.; five daughters, Ann Plumer of High Point, N.C., Linda John (Roderick) of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mildred Bennett of Hampton, Va., Gail Seay of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Kimberly Nichols of Newport News, Va.; one brother, Olin Lake (Helen) of Maryland; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at Ivy Baptist Church, 50 Maple Avenue, Newport News, Va. Interment to follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

I remember Aunt Sadie when she used to visit my mother Amy and Aunt Janie Blair. She was such a sweet and humorous lady.
Our family extend our heartfelt condolences to you. You have truly been blessed to have had Aunt Sadie for 92 years. But then, that was probably not enough. It is so hard to lose the ones you love at any time in our lives. We will keep you in our prayers for comfort.
