Today I made a visit tho the cemtery to view the flowers at Sandra's grave. They were beautiful when we left the four pieces there on December 11, 2010.
The weather here in Mascot, Virginia have been very cold, windy and snowy in the past 14 days.
The silk wreath of blue, white, yellow and pink flowers from her Aunt Beatrice and the bouquest of white silk roses in a burgundy vase with black, gold and white ribbon from me were in tact at her head. Also the white artificial heart from her extended family of Baltimore, Maryland; Sisters: Delgarcia, Bonita, Joanna, Eulalis, Herminee and brother Todd remain at the fool along with the live white bouquet from her friend, Carol in the Northwest. I removed the weather beaten live flowers and replaced them with cedar from my front lawn with one red artificial rose in the beautiful white vase that held them. Then I came hove and enjoyed the large peace lily from her siblings. Later it begain to snow this afternoon. It brought to mind the song, "The Rose". Thinking of Sandra with fond memories. Mother

Thanks to the many friends and associates of Sandra for your heartfelt expressions of remembrance. I appreciate your remarks dearly. I will miss her. Today, I think of her arriving at 7:50 AM, weighing 6-10, and yes, it was snow on the ground in the city of Brotherly Love.
I have hope that in the not too distant future she will be among the millions returning to live on earth in Paradise. (Luke 23:43) When at such time death will be no more,...nor pain be anymore' (Rev.21:3) May we see her and ourselves at this reunion.

I rejoice too that the Grand creator will exercise his works fo resurrect millions to life in Paradise on earth. Then I hope too to see Sandra return in ...'youthful vigor' with flesh 'fresher that in youth'.{Job 33:25} What a Joyful reunion awaits us.

I am so sad not to have my friend here to talk to. What saddens me more is that some people have never had or experienced a true friendship. I hope that I was a good friend to her also. For forty-one years she has been a faithful, trustworthy entity in my life.

We have grown older together and we have had fun!
From Philadelphia to Europe to North Africa and back again, with laughs all the way. It has been a blast.

My faith teaches me that this life is very temporary and the next one is forever. I pray that we will meet again in a wonderful place.

Sandi was my Godmother. I was the first baby she ever held, and she has been a constant source of love, humor, and reality in my life. I will miss her encouragement, her honesty, her creativity, and her sick sense of humor which I intend to carry on in her absence. I loved the fact that she accepted all of us in her life for whom and what we are without judgment or expectation. She was one of those rare people who could see people for whom they were deep down inside and still love and value them in spite of their flaws, insecurities, and inconsistencies. Wow, what a loss for us all.

What a spectacular human being! Sandy worked in my classroom at Orca Elementary in Columbia City for several years. She came to us from Powerful Writers.

Sandy was the best school volunteer of all time, hands down. During one of the years she worked in my classroom of third graders, she was working four days a week consulting in San Diego. She commuted back to Seattle each Friday. Sandy would catch a 6:00 am flight out of San Diego just to make sure she wouldn't miss the Friday morning writing time with my eight and nine year olds.

Most volunteers in schools keep to their time committment 75% of the time if the teacher is lucky. With Sandy, it was 100%. She accorded my motley little crew of authors as much respect as she did the clients she served in her paying job. The kids adored her.

She still holds the all-time bidding record for our annual auction fundraiser. The item she bid on was a book of writing from a second grade class at Orca. The class had a child from the school's most well-to-do family, and those parents wanted that book! Sandi took them on and raised the bid to over $2,000! The items from other classes mostly went for 10 or 15% of that amount. Her winning bid has never been topped.

Sandra Jones was as generous a spirit as I have ever encountered. Thank you, Sandy. John Brockhaus, Orca K-8, Seward Park, Seattle
