To the Vaughan Family,
My fondest memory of Sister Vaughan was how faithful she was in the door-to-door ministry. When I was a young woman, we would go out during the winter months and get cold very quickly. But, Sister Vaughan would always have on several layers of clothing, so she would be ready for the cold and wind! Her depth of love for Jehovah and her determination to follow his Son's command that we "go, therefore, and make disciples..." (Matthew 28:19, 20) was a fine example to us all! As she rests in Jehovah God's memory having lived a life faithful to the end with no regrets, we can reflect on whether we are proving ourselves faithful in the same fine fashion.
Along with being encouraged by her service, we realize that the family members left behind need comfort and support. May you be comforted by Jehovah's love, though you will miss her for a short time.
Know that we, your friends, though we don't see each other often, will pray for you to be comforted and also support you in any practical way we can.

To the Vaughan Family:
It is with heartfelt sympathy that I write this condolence. I have been a friend of this beautiful family for more than 45 years. Veda and I first became Best Female Friends (BFFs) in the fifth grade at Booker T. Washington Elementary School. This beautiful friendship continued to grow and remains intact as we now speak.
My most fondest and significant encounter with Mrs. Vaughan was her teaching while attending The First School Program for Expecting Mothers in Newport News, VA, in 1969 and 1970. Even though I had to walk from 35th Street to 23rd Street, she taught me how to endure the obstacles and press towards my destiny.
Her firm teaching, (along with my mother, Audrey), her unique quality of love, understanding, encouragement and wisdom, afforded me the opportunity to march on time with my “Class of 1970 from Huntington High School.
I am most appreciative to her for being a genuine milestone and strong pillar in my life, and I will always keep Mrs. Vaughan's memories held deeply within my heart reminding me of how life should be lived.
Lovingly,
