Scott DAVIS Obituary
Scott was proprietor of Davis Painting and Wall Covering. He loved fishing, spending time with friends, and would give you the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his mother, Marlene Morgan of Newport News; two children, Katelyn Davis and Kyle Davis both of Bristol, Va.; one sister, Cindy Poplin and her husband, Tony, of Newport News; one brother, Greg Davis of Williamsburg; his nephew and niece, Andrew and Taylor Poplin; and his dog, Jerry-Lee.
A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas H. Everett officiating. The family will receive friends after the service until 8:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Greenbrier Tower II, Suite 404, Chesapeake, VA 23320.

Dear Marlene. Cindy & Greg,
Scott always had a special place in his heart for me and I for him. I remember when I was going through my divorce, how he would comfort me and call me. He was my brother's best friend but we all hung out together and he would do anything for me without question. If and when I needed him he was always there. I will miss him greatly. He was a loyal and faithful friend and we really had some good times. Scott, until we meet again....

Dear Davis family, I am so sorry to hear about Scott leaving us. As everyone has said in this guest book, when Scott was your friend he was a friend always.He had a great sense of humor and seemed to find good in most everyone. I have some great memories of hangin with Scott, Jeff Delozier and Larry Hargrave at Magruder. I'm glad that I knew Scott because I'm better for it. To Mrs Davis, ( I can still picture you guys riding in the ole blue charger), though I can only imagine your pain, I can't help but think that Scott is right ther beside you with his arm around you whispering in your ear "come on mom, it'll be ok". That is just the Scott I will always remember. Never taking himself to seriously and trying to make others feel better.

To Davis family, I have your family in our prayers and thoughts at this difficult time. I knew Scott from way back. We all use to hang out in neighborhood over from his moms like Jimmy fugarino, Michael Craig & Chris Edwards we had so much fun and great times. You are better off where you are now and we will meet again someday until then you will be missed. You were a great guy and friend.

I don't know if any will remember me but I know one thing Scott would. I can't even begin going through all the memories of our youth. My deepest sympathy to the family. I met Scott in 8th grade at Magruder Middle School and I enjoyed many days fishing with him and Sean Rittenhouse on the banks of Maury Lake. He had a zest for life and unforgettable laugh. My prayers go out to Cindy and the family.

Marlene....You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. As a neighbor on Pine Grove Road, I can remember when all your children were born. What a gift from God when a new baby is born. I am sure you can remember Scott always through your grandchildren. He always had a good heart & will really be missed. The ladies @ the Chesapeake were talking about what faith you have, today. Cindy & Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Scott. We have known each other since Kindergarten and continued to be friends after high school. I have such fun memories of him and all the funny stuff him and Shane Rittenhouse use to do. Scott could make me laugh and smile at anything (I loved his goofy laugh he had) Im glad that me and him talked alot the last couple of years. Anyone who had him as a friend knows that his friendship was with you for life.
