Sheila FORTENBERRY Obituary

YORKTOWN - Sheila Jean (Vaughan) Fortenberry, born March 25, 1943, passed away Oct. 5, 2010, after a long illness, at home in Yorktown, Va., with her family at her bedside.
She was a fun and loving grandmother whose compassion for others was immeasurable. Sheila was a longtime bus driver for the York County Schools and the York Town Trolley. She will be sorely missed by all.
She is survived by one daughter, Michelle (Ted) Thompson of Yorktown; two sons, Robert Jantz (Joe Barnes) of Detroit, Mich., and Jack (Dawn) Fortenberry of Elizabeth City, N.C.; grandchildren, Matthew Thompson, and Joshua, Jacquelyn and Cameron Fortenberry.
Cremation has taken place at the request of Ms. Fortenberry. Services are planned for the spring in New Mexico. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Michelle and family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Sheila was a dear friend to me. I will miss all the long talks we had and the way she could always find humor in the worst situations. She made me laugh a lot of times when I really felt like crying instead. I will really miss her.
