Temple CRAIG Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Temple Walters Craig left Gloucester on Dec. 27, 2010, to join her mother, Irene Cowen Walters and her father, Joseph Martin Walters at their Heavenly home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will be reunited with her brothers, David, Milton and Carroll and her sister, Frances Doley, all of whom preceded her to their Heavenly home.
Temple is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William H. Craig; her son, William H. Craig Jr. and his wife, Marise; daughter, Temple Marie Craig. Temple is also survived by her granddaughter, Brittany Rose and her husband, Andrew and three great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Abigail and Madeleine and grandson, W. Ross Craig and wife, Christine. Temple also leaves two sisters, Ruth Goforth, Opal Baker and brother, Herschell Walters, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Temple was mutli-talented, having been an artist painting with water colors. She was an expert seamstress and sewed many of her own clothes including her wedding gown. Later in life she did very fine needlework. She developed a love of gardening and was one of the group that established the Flat Iron Garden on Ware Neck Road. She particularly enjoyed flower arranging especially with dried flowers. She served as president of the Country Hills Garden Club, Fairfax, Va., as well as the Walter Reed Garden Club, Gloucester.
A full obituary will follow at a later date.
