Thomas WATSON Obituary

SURRY - Thomas Curtis "Curt" Watson Sr., 74, beloved husband of 46 years of Norma Isennock Watson, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010.
Curt was born in Whitehall, Md. He lived in Smithfield several years and was a former resident of New Freedom, Pa. In 2007, Curt moved back to Surry County to be close to family. He was a member of Community Baptist Church, Dendron. Curt will be best remembered for his love of music. He played in the Faded Glory (Country) Band.
Curt was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terry Simmons; and sons, Franklin Watson and Thomas Watson Jr.; one sister, and two brothers. Curt is also survived by his children, George Watson, Kenneth Simmons and wife, Patty, Billy Simmons, Ricky Simmons and wife, Brenda, Nancy Ellen Skidmore, husband, Donald, and Deborah Lynn Watson; 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 1, in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield. Curt's body will be taken to J.J. Hartenstein, 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA 17349 for visitation at 1 p.m. and funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4. Burial will follow in New Freedom Cemetery.
