Thomas KUBESH Obituary
Thomas was a lifelong resident of the Peninsula. He was a 1979 graduate of Tabb High School, where he excelled in Athletics, and attended James Madison University. He was a practical joker who lived life to the fullest. He was a very kind and generous person, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Kubesh; and brother, Paul Kubesh.
He is survived by his mother, Alice Kubesh of Yorktown; brothers, John Kubesh, of York County, Peter Kubesh of Hampton; sister, Cindy Bauer and her husband, Jim of Gloucester; and nephew, Peter Kubesh II.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 16, at St. Kateri Tekakwitha with the Rev. Lawrence J. Mullaney Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parish Food Pantry, 3800 Big Bethel Road, Tabb, VA 23693, or Parish Thrift Shop, 3800 Big Bethel Road, Tabb, VA 23693.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. We were great friends long ago. I can still see his smile and beautiful white teeth. We had alot of fun as friends, along with Pete, Mike F. and Jim H.. Kubesh family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am very sorry to read about Tom in the Daily Press. I remember him well. He was a student of mine at Tabb High School. He was such a prankster at Tabb. He was cute and funny with all of his smart alex remarks. An unforgettable young man. He always had mischievous smile on his face in class. It made me wonder what he was getting ready to do. He loved all of the attention everyone gave him. Pete, please accept my condolences. I know you and he were close.

We have losted a great person and friend.For the 40 years ive know Tom i will tell you he did live a FULL live filled with fun.Although his live was cut short he will live though all of his family and friends.Tom you will be missed my brother.He was one of the good ones.We all looked up to him for leadership and friendship.My heart and love go to you Alice,John and Pete. As a child, I remember Tom playing sports with my older brother and then years later, we had some fun times with friends, esepcially at the beach, Tom was the kind of person you never forget. Many condolences within the Kubesh family and friends. Tom and I played football, baseball, and just about any activities the "original" River-Rats' had to do in the 60's, etc....
He'll see his dad now, Ron and younger brother Paul and will converse on their times together...

I hope you feel the many prayers and thoughts that are being said for you and your family at a time of unbelievable grief. It’s God’s will that our mortal bodies be laid aside. At this time, Tom’s soul has entered into real life. Now is a time of preparation for living, because now Tom is completely born. My prayers are with you Alice, John and Pete. Tom did live life to the fullest and though many people intimidated by Tom, us that knew him, felt very comforted in his surroundings. Spent many days with him in the Wrestling Room at Tabb High School. He was a fierce competitor and a State Champion. Tom was a big guy, and friendly and loyal to his friends. It was always entertaining to watch him and Peter together at school--I'm so sorry for this loss in your family and hope that you can be comforted in the fact that God does all things well, He has everything under control, and that Tom lived the days God gave him with a love for life and with hope for his future.
