Dr. Spicuzza has been my doctor for 11 years. He was like a grandfather. Not always telling me what I wanted to hear, but always doing what was best for me. I recently had my first child and he gave me his pager #, and let me page him as many times as I needed! He was wonderful. I'll never find another doctor like him.

I am saddened and shocked to be informed of the passing of Dr. Spicuzza. He meant so much to me. He was the first medical professional that I had come in contact with that helped me start to grasp and understand the nightmare that I am going through of traumatic brain injury. Until I met him I was lost and confused and to him I owe a huge debt of gratitude to him and his family. For it was Dr. Spicuzza that started helping me put my life back together and getting me in contact with people who could help me understand and cope with my condition. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. He will be forever missed and I shall be forever grateful to him.

I was so shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Spicuzza. He treated my son Drew for migraines and was the saving grace for our family. He was always so kind and patient. At all of Drew's appointments he took the time to talk to him and listen to everything he had to say. We will truly miss him, what an inspiration to so many! Our deepest sympathy to his entire family, friends and colleagues that had the great pleasure of working with such a remarkable man.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Spicuzza. In 1998 he checked an MRI of my spine, seeing fractures in 3 of my vertebra, sent me to Dr. Young in Richond, VA who performed surgery. Without Dr. Spicuzza's skill and keen observation I would be either dead or paralyzed. I OWE MY LIFE TO DR. SPICUZZA. I'LL MISS HIM SO MUCH. WALK WITH THE ANGELS MY FRIEND.

My son has been a patient of Dr Spicuzza for almost 9 years. It was a shock for us to hear of his passing. I still remember our first visit to his office. Despite the language bariera and other obstacles my son's reaction was: "He is going to be my doctor". He felt relaxed, accepted and respected in his presence. For the following years we felt him like a member of our family- he has been so caring, dependable, understanding, sharing our pain and happiness with every success. We will miss him forever.
Our simpathy to his immediate family, friends, staff and everione whose life has been touched fom Dr Spicuzza. We will miss him forever.

To the family of Dr. Spicuzza,
Dr. Spicuzza was our daughters Shaqwan, doctor for twenty years.
The loving care and support that he showed for her will forever be appreciated, and never forgotten. He was the only doctor that would let her play with his stethoscope without getting into trouble.(Actually I just think he was just briving her into letting him check her everytime).
He would often tell us that we as her parents were Saints.
But the truth of the matter is that he was truly a Great Saint and I know he will continue to shine down on Shaqwan for now he is in a better place looking down on all of us.
Heather, our thoughts and prayers go out to you as well. Dr. Spicuzza was very fortunate to have you.
The friendly smile and advice that you showed to us was also appreciated and will never be forgotten. You always treated Shaqwan with that candy bowl.
Thanks for everything.
Agian to the family, our thoughts and prayers to you.

I would like to express my sympathy to Dr. Spicuzza's family in his passing. He was an EXCELLENT doctor to myself and many other family members. He had a really big heart when it came to his patients. He always went out of his way to spend extra time in explaining things during every visit. He will be sadly missed by all of us.

My family was so saddened to hear of Dr. Spicuzza's passing. It was so obvious that he truly loved his patients. My daughter was immediately at ease in his presence- very grandfatherly and safe. I always felt he took into account, depended on, and trusted my knowledge and opinions in regards to my daughter's care- very uncommon in my experience.
Our sympathies go out to his family, staff, and friends. We will miss him.

We would like to thank Dr. Spicuzza for all of his help with our infant daughter Bailee. When Bailee began having seizures, Dr. Spicuzza was the only doctor who believed us. Not only did he treat our daughter, but he was a great comfort to us as parents. If we had any questions or concerns, Dr. Spicuzza was always there to answer our questions. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. We are going to miss him greatly.
Thanks for all you did for Bailee,

TO the family of Dr. Spicuzza, My son Dillon has been a patient of Dr. S for 16 years . I have never and never will again meet a man who was as wonderful as DR. S. He was always a phone call away. He was my advisor, He was the one person that I truely trusted and never questioned, I never did anything concerning Dillon that I didn't consult Dr. S .Dillon had a problem when he was little saying Dr. Spicuzza so we always called him Dr. S., Dillon and I will miss him very much as I know many others will .Dr. Spicuzza's work was of a person you only meet once in a life and I am so thankful that the Lord put him in our path. Dillon and I will never forget him , he was a big part of our lives for 16 years. We love and will miss you Dr. S

Dr. Spicuzza was my son's neurologist for the past several years. When my son started having seizures I was extremely upset--the feeling of helplessness was overwhelming, and meeting and talking with Dr. Spicuzza was a Godsend. He was everything you could ever want in a Doctor and he will be missed.

There are some people whose passing make even the angels cry..Today I was told that my friend and Doctor had passed. The angels cried and so did I. The Dr. that had told me there was a way when others had said accept that there was none.He told me to accept what I could do and stop grieving for what I could not .Taught me that a stroke and losing independence was not the end of life , just another chapter in it. The last time I was with my friend he told me of his brush with death, it scared me for what would I do without his guidance. He assured me that he would always be with me. Yes today I was told that my Dr had passed but now I know that the man that I grew to respect and love will remain with me in my heart forever. So until we meet again, rest with the angels my friend you deserve it.

Heather, John and family of Dr. Spicuzza,
We feel very fortunate to have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Spicuzza. He was a most trusted physician who was able to allay our many fears after our daughter's epilepsy diagnosis. We appreciated his straightforwardness and his genuine concern and willingness to always help us through difficult situations. He connected with our family and our daughter on a level that will be very difficult to achieve with another physician. My family feels a deep personal loss and we know the community has suffered a great loss as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all who were close to Dr. Spicuzza.

As the President of the Brain Injury Association of West Virginia and as a personal friend and colleague of Dr. Spicuzza's, I want to express my deepest symapthies to his family, friends, patients and staff. Tom has been a close friend for over 27 years and has treated my severely brain injured son Todd for all those years. He will be sorely missed in the brain injury community and will be hard if not impossible to replace. His unique talent of compassion for his patients and their families is remarkable. Having trained in pediatrics and with a drive for rehabilitation, he made so much difference in the lives of so many, especially the West Virginians who were fortunate to find him for treatment. May God bless and keep him and may he find eternal peace. Tom, I don't know what I'm going to do without you.
