Timothy TOTTEN Obituary
"Big Tim" as we affectionately called him, graduated from Warwick High in 1986. Tim was a member of the Special Olympics. He loved basketball, softball and the Chicago Bears.
Tim is predeceased by his parents, George and Louella Totten; and his sister, Janice Totten Blunt.
Tim is survived by his brother, George R. Totten, of Hampton, Va., who genuinely loved and cared for him; two nephews, Lamar S. Totten (Amy) of Killeen, Texas, Ryan S. Totten of Newport News, Va.; one niece, Tressa M. Totten also of Newport News, Va.; a special uncle and aunt, Cornelius (Tot) and Peggy Totten of Hampton, Va.; and a host of family and friends.
Viewing will be from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday Oct. 3. A funeral will be held at Cooke Brothers Funeral Chapel, 1601 W 27th St. Newport News, Va., on Monday, Oct. 4, at noon. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.

To the teamate and friends of NNSO of area 22.We lost a teammate and friend of the Wolverines family. Timothy E.Totten was a good friend to all of us. And, the only way we can honor him is to win this season sports that Big Tim love the most Basketball and softball. Tim You will be greatly missed. You were a great friend along with your mother, father, sister and brother. God Bless Rodney and the entire Totten family. I was deeply saddened by Tim's passing. He was well-liked and respected by all his friends at Special Olympics, and he was a friend to all. Tim was a comfort and inspiration to all of us. He was a good man and will be missed very much. My sympathies to his family and friends, and especially to Bunny, Armand, and Artemus for all they did for Tim.

I was just heart broken to hear the news of Tim's passing. He was such a great friend. I have known Big Tim through Special Olympics since 1990 if not sooner. He was an angel sent to us just to make us Smile. He will have a special place in Heaven! I will never forget his great smile and his "Hey Caroline"! He was my buddy for so long I just wish I could of seen him--but I know he is looking upon all of us! His memories will never be forgotten nor his laughter!

Tim was truly a "gentle giant" He was involved in Newport News Special Olympics with my daughter Meaghan. He always had a smile and a hug for her. Tim was one of the first athletes Meaghan met when she started in Special Olympics 8 years ago and he was always very protective of her. Tim was a very special person and will be missed by everyone in Newport News Special Olympics Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.
