Tony CHAMBLEE Obituary
He was affectionately known as 'Bubba Love'. He was born on Dec. 2, 1957, in Bertie County, N.C., to the late Mary Ruth and Clinton Chamblee.
He was educated in the Bertie County Public School system. He furthered his education at the College of Albermale, Elizabeth City. He was an employee of Northrop Grumman for 29 years at the time of his death. He was kind and was willing to help anyone whether he knew you or not. That was 'Bubba Love's' personality.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Moore; and stepson, Tremone Abramson.
He leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories his wife, Delecia Abramson-Chamblee, Hampton, Va.; his children, Crystal Chamblee, Windsor, N.C., Shannon Chamblee, Wilson, N.C. and Tony C. Chamblee Jr., Ahoskie, N.C.; stepson, Demontre' Abramson (Latisha), El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Damien and Tianna Abramson; brothers, Larry Chamblee Sr. (Pamela), Windsor, N.C., and Ronnie Chamblee (Dorothy), Gates, N.C.; sisters, Mary Swain (Graylord), Colerain, N.C., and Jacqueline Manley, Ahoskie, N.C.; mother-in-law, Olivia Alston; brothers-in-law, Alvin A. Abramson Jr. and Reynaud Alston, Hampton, Va.; sister-in-law, Cassandra Bland (David), Newport News, Va.; paternal uncle, Samuel (Bessit), Newport News, Va.; paternal aunts, Carolyn Bazemore, Winiferd, Del., and Louise Cherry, Ahoskie, N.C.; maternal aunts, Helen Casin (Robert), Virginia Beach, Va., Vivian Chamblee, Ahoskie, N.C., Mable Moore, Colerain, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing was held from noon until the time of the wake service from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th St. Newport News, VA 23607. The funeral will be held 1 p.m. today, April 17, 2010, at Piney Woods Chapel Baptist Church, Ahoskie, N.C. Interment will follow at St. Mark's Baptist Cemetery, Colerain, N.C. The Chamblee family would like to also extend a special 'Thank You' to the physicians, nurses and staff of Sentara Hampton CarePlex, Leigh, Norfolk and Port Warwick for their dedicated care during Tony's illness and to all of his co-workers at Northrop Grumman who were there for him.

On behalf of Bubba Love's brothers and sisters, I would like to thank Cleo, Northrup Grumman's employees, and all of his friends for the love that you express during the time of my brother's illness and death. He would mentioned to my sister and me that he didn't know that so many people care for him. We also thank the financial support that you have given us, his wife, and him. You have very large hearts and my brother would sit on his coach and cried many times for all of you expressing your love this way. Thank all of you and my God send you a special blessing. We dearly love our brother and will miss his jokes and presence.
