Victoria LLANEZA Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Victoria Capicola Llaneza was born July 7, 1918, in Clarksburg, W. Va. Mrs. Llaneza was a resident at Saint Francis Nursing Center in Newport News and after a wonderful life of 93 years, Victoria passed away at 3 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Mary Immaculate Hospital.
Victoria was the last surviving child of six children born to the late Julia and James Capicola. Victoria was born and raised in Clarksburg, W.Va., and moved to Hampton, Va., in 1942, together with her beloved husband Valentino R. Llaneza, who deceased in 1970.
She worked at various retail stores in Hampton and for Hampton City Schools.
Victoria will forever be remembered by her loving children, daughter, Phyllis Goldenbaum and son-in-law, Jon Goldenbaum; son, Jerry Llaneza and daughter-in-law, Cathy Llaneza; son, Eugene Llaneza and daughter-in-law, Tish Llaneza; devoted grandchildren, Captain Mary Guest, Bret Llaneza and wife, Kristy Llaneza, and Amy Llaneza; as well as her first beautiful great-grandchild, Kendal Llaneza; along with countless other friends and family members, whom were blessed to know Victoria.
Victoria loved being with family and friends, sewing and crocheting, reading, walking and exercising, and spending time at the beach. She always had a special touch in the kitchen from her Italian heritage. Victoria touched the lives of many people with her warm smile of friendliness.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, followed by a Mass at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
The family requests all donations be sent to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 100 Harpersville Rd., Newport News, VA 23601; or American Cancer Association, 11835 Canon Blvd., Suite A102, Newport News, VA 23605.
