Not sure what to say?

July 8, 2010

I just heard of Buxton's passing yesterday. He was my next door neighbor on Raleigh Rd. until he moved to Va Beach. I remember him announcing Warwick Original Little League games when Mike Batkins, Mike Ware, Maury Jackson and I played. Hilton was a great place to be in the 60's and we could always find some guys on Hurley Ave to get up a game. I'll miss knowing you're gone. Mike Thornton, Newport News and WHS '74 (sort of)

Dear Jason:
So very sorry to hear of your father's passing.
We have fond memories of the two of you playing pool with our son the last time you visited El Paso.
Wayne and Charlotte thought the world of you and Buxton. They would speak of you two highly every time they visited.
Again, our deepest condolences on your loss.
If you are ever in this area, let us know. We would love seeing you again.

We are so sorry to hear of Buxton's death. He was such a great cousin and always had time to talk about our family.
We had some great times in Charlottesville as well as out at Aunt Cora's.
I'll surely miss him!

Mike Batkins' comments were exactly right. Great place to grow up back in the 60's. Can't imagine how much money we lost putting basball cards in the spokes of our Spyder bikes and the hours playing something in all the front yards on Hurley. Sorry to hear you are gone so soon. You,Randy,Bruce and I as well as all the Hilton Gang could not have asked for a better place to grow up and amongst what would become lifelong friends. I have a picture of You Randy and me when we were 10 or 12 and its hard to believe you would be voted best dressed in school. We were not very dapper either. ( I thought I was so cool when you sold me your used shirts from Beecroft) All my best to your family, you will be greatly missed. Mike Batkins Carrollton, Va. and WHS class of 74

Jason,
Your dad was a special man. He called and chatted with me after my husband died last year and we talked for quite sometime. He will really be missed by the family.
Wish I was there with you to share these rough times.

Jason,

Our thoughts and prayers are with during this very tough time. Your Dad was a very cool guy who we really enjoyed meeting. We were talking just a month or so ago that next year would be the 5 year anniversary of you and Adam's graduation and it was our turn to take you and your Dad out to dinner. We'll do it next year in his memory.
