POQUOSON - TSgt Walter "Mike" White Jr. (USAF Ret), 78, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012. Born in Fort Totten, N.Y., to the late Walter M. White Sr., and Helen Virginia White.
Mike retired from the U.S Air Force in 1977 after 23 years, which included service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mike was a talented actor who performed with community theater groups on the Peninsula and Southside for more than 30 years. Mike's incredible comedic timing, sense of humor, and dedication to the arts brought joy to audiences and fellow actors alike.
Surviving are his daughters, Lisa Mooney and Laura White, of Dublin, Ireland and Kathleen Alfke of Indiana; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Janie, Dylan and Robyn.
A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted 10 a.m. on Aug. 20, 2012, at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans' Cemetery.
