Wanda Brownlee Obituary

SUFFOLK - Wanda D. Knight Brownlee, 54 of 1396 White Marsh Road, Suffolk, Va., daughter of Eleanor Pittman and the late James A. Knight, died Nov. 3, 2009, in Sentara Obici Hospital.
Her magnetic personality will be dearly missed by her family, friends and co-workers. She worked for Northrop Grumman Shipyard for 34 years. She was a former member of Tabernacle Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Scherrie James Harris (Terrell); two grandchildren, Isaiah and Shawn Harris; mother, Eleanor Pittman (James); one sister, Thelma L. Knight; one brother, James Knight Jr. She leaves three aunts, two uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends and a special friend, Dwayne Jones.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Carter E. Knight; aunt, Deloise Thompson; and grandmother, Pearl Lassiter.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Tabernacle Christian Church officiated by Dr. Carlton Upton. The family will assemble at Crocker Funeral Home at 11 a.m. for procession to church. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc., Suffolk is handling the arrangements. I like to think everyone that known my mother, The family appreciate everything that everyone did for us at our time of grief. she was a good mother, daughter and grandmother. I know I'm going to miss her and my sons, plus my grandparents. thanks again.

Mrs. Eleanor and Vern, I was so saddened when I read about Wanda Friday night. By then it was too late to come to the homegoing. She will forever be in my heart. The Lord will guide you through it all. I am here if you need comfort. My # is 319-6971.

Wanda was a very good friend and I have known her since High School at John F. Kennedy. Everytime you saw her she was always happy and full of life, she will be missed by all who knew her, because she would always brighten your day.
