Today they buried my first mentor.
My prayers are for his soul and with his family. Matthew 5:4

I wanted them to know that he made a difference in my life and I truly appreciated his willingness to step outside of the art teacher role and provide a young man direction and encouragement to seek higher education and being a better person.

He officially was my art teacher back at LHS but he was truly my guidance counselor. It was Mr. Lee who was constantly on me to apply, schedule and take my SATs. It was Mr. Lee on me to submit my college applications in time to get accepted. It was him that also gave me advice about how to navigate the college life after graduation in my first few years at VSU. I don’t even remember who my official guidance counselor was.

I will never forget Mr. Lee

Hondo was a awesome brother and a great friend to all he came in contact with. He was a dapper, classy, articulate, encouraging man and definitely a God Loving soul. What a joy to be around... We thank God for him and though we may weep for a night Joy cometh in the morning. As we endure this time of trial let us all remember it's times like this we have Jesus!

I was so sad to hear the passing of Hondo. I can think back to our days at Lafayette high school and how all the kids really loved his art class. My heart goes out to you and remember that although you loved him God loved him more and called him home. My prayers are with you.
