Wayne Lewis Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Wayne Lewis, 61, died suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester County.
Born and raised in Newport News, he spent most of his adult life in Gloucester. He was a former employee of Union Carbide and later worked as an independent paint contractor until his death.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys Lewis.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Gallo; his son, Chris Lewis; grandchildren, Sierra, Jack and Joanie; sisters, Joan Hitt and Beverly Blevins; brothers, Charles Lewis and Steve Lewis; and longtime companion and friend, Carol.
The family will receive friends at Weymouth Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Peninsula Memorial Park.
In Wayne's memory, donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., P. O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
