My Faher used to take my brother and myself to Red for haircuts when we were kids, and Red cut my hair for the last 20 years until his retirement. It was always an adventure to have Red cut your hair, with the jokes and laughter. I just learned of Red's passing today when I went to his old shop for a haircut.
Red truly brightened many lives, and his unforgetable personality will live on for many years to come through all that had the pleasure to sit in Red's barber chair.

To the Family of Wayne {Red} Sesco,
Your loved one has been, and was, until he retired my barber for many, many years. He was definitely an expert in his profession, and an outstanding gentleman. He will be greatly missed.
God bless each of you with His peace and comfort. May it help in some small way to know others care.

Bobby, I had no idea that your father had passed. I have not had any internet in about 3 months. Please let me know if you or Dar need anything. Michael and I will be thinking of you. Love you, Marilyn and Michael

My father, W.T. Barlow, was a long time customer and friend of Red's. I enjoyed going to the barber shop with him where Red would always have a joke and piece of candy for me. He would also tease me about my long hair. He told me his hair wouldn't grow that long and he'd try to talk me into selling him my pigtails. When I outgrew those days, I still enjoyed hearing my father repeat the jokes and stories he'd heard at the barber shop.
My prayers are with all of the family during this time.

Oh!
Wayne, We met in `73 in the Wythe shop. I'll miss our conversations, your stories from the country, with your teasing, investigative questioning you always started. And that time you came over to the house, we took pictures of the shop with the chain installed, for the Lawyer down the street. Your consideration of Archie during his retirement, moved me, and I learned from you. Another time you stopped, and told me who you suspected of taking the barber pole from the shop. Yet, you wanted to drop the matter, when several would go after the thief. You almost bought the Wythe building, but you secured seveal talented opinions and later moved to Sourth Hampton. I suppose, like most shops, the political news was fluid. Andy, a television news reporter came by, and you got his picture, like many or your three and four generations of customers. The reporters followed you from Kecoughtan to Tide Mill, when a reporter from the Norfolk Pilot came in one day. After you retired, that place behind the bus barn is where I found you, and shortly thereafter in Coliseum Centeral.
You loved the Country, the road less traveled.
Say hello to Louise.

I knew Red all my life being raised in the Wythe area. He cut my grandfathers, my fathers, my sons and my hair over his many years in business. He was a very dear friend to my father who really enjoyed his time with Red. He was a good man, a beloved person in the Wythe community and will be missed. Steve Linkous { Hampton, Va, Orlando, Fl.}

Dear Bob and all family,
Bobbie I was saddened today to learn of your father's death. I remember Red in the Wythe shopping center barber shop before I even met you in the Young Americans. My love and prayers for you and family at this time. I know what it is like to loose a dad ... keep his memory close to your heart and he will always be near. Love you, Roxie......

Red, you will be missed. I have known you for many years, and it was always enjoyable going to visit you for a laugh, a new joke, and of course a hair cut. May you rest in peace.
