William KING Obituary

WILLILAMSBURG - William 'Bill' E. King, 75, beloved husband of Betty I. King (nee Rowe) of Williamsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, after a long illness.
Bill was the son of the late William E. King and Callie Olive King of Baltimore, Md.
He is survived by brothers, Jack L. King and his wife, Anne of Largo, Fla., Kenneth King and his wife, Patti of Hampstead, Md.; loving aunt, Janelle Hamric of Sugar Grove, Va.; cousin, Peggy Falls and her husband, Charles of Williamsburg; many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Edie Thompson, Eileen King and Lorraine King.
Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Ernest and Phillip.
Bill attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and obtained his mechanical engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University. He served in the Maryland Air National Guard and retired from Teledyne Engineering Systems, Timonium, Md., in 1998.
In 2002, Bill and Betty moved to Williamsburg after visiting annually since the 1960s, as they enjoyed the ambiance and history. Bill was a longtime contributor to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and was a member of the Burgesses and W.A.R. Goodwin Society, as well as a member of the Jamestown-Yorktown 1607 Society. He was a member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church and was active in the church-sponsored annual charity golf tournaments since inception.
Funeral arrangements are private.
