William BADOWSKI Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - William Henry Badowski was born June 17, 1917, in South Bend, Ind., and died May 9, 2010. He lived at Morningside Assisted Living in Williamsburg.
He spent most of his life in South Bend, Ind., where he was born into a family who owned a bakery and where he began work at a very young age. He served his country during World War II and on Dec. 1, 1936, he married his sweetheart and dancing partner, Mary Jane Fye. Their 73 years of marriage was a true commitment of love and caring for each other. After retirement, they moved to Hobe Sound, Fla., where they enjoyed their many friends.
Pete will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Mary Jane; and their daughters, Pat Baskett that he now joins in heaven, JoAnne Winkler of Chicago, Ill., Marjorie Hilkert of Williamsburg, Va., and Diane Snyder of Tigard, Ore.; nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pete's honor may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 213 McLaws Circle, Suite 2-B, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Mary Jane and all of your wonderful family, I am sorry for the loss of such a lovely and talented man. The first time I saw Pete and Mary Jane dance I realized I was seeing true love and devotion.Your wonderful marriage was an inspiration to so many and I feel very fortunate to have seen a tiny bit.
