William MURPHY Obituary
He was a native and lifelong resident of Hampton, and a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. Mr. Murphy was previously employed by Bluewater Yachts for more than 10 years, but recently had become a proud employee of Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding-Newport News.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Roberta Haller; grandmother, Dollie Henderson; and grandfather, Jessie Champion.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 20 years, Jeanneen; three children, Ashley, Kimberly and Carley; parents, Katie DeMass (Lee), William Murphy Sr., and Richard Haller (Vickie); grandmother, Gaynell Champion of Hertford, N.C.; brother, Randy; sisters, Tonya Rumburg (Al), Tammy Johnson (DJ), and Tina Campbell (Clinton); four nephews; and five nieces.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of William's life will be held Friday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert Parsons and Bob Rough, Minister. Interment will follow Parklawn Memorial Park.

Jeaneen and girls, I am so saddened by your loss. It's just not fair that William was taken away so young. I am sorry for the hurt that you all have to feel and nothing can take it away...only time can help you deal with it and accept it. Jennie and I were talking about you and William "Boo Boo" last night and how we can remember when you guys first started dating. That made me feel old real quick. Just know that even though we are not as close as we all once were...we love you! William will be greatly missed but I do have to say I'm jealous that he gets to be with Ms. Haller. I miss her! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. William was a great man, he will be missed by many! He was the most kind person and he would give his shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. Jeanneen, I never knew William, but from your description he is your everything. It sounds like you have a love that has lasted though the years and that is very special. I am so sorry for the pain and loss you and your family are dealing with now. I know the days look dark, but slowly William will shine the sun again for you and your children. Jeanneen, The only thing I can say is Im sorry. Im sorry for that "gut wrenching" hurt that you, your children, and his family are feeling. Nothing takes it away, nothing helps it, it feels like your insides have been ripped out and everthing is raw. You have felt this hurt before with your mom and you are feeling it again and Im sorry. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers, and those memories of William that you will keep close to your heart will get you through this.

Jeanneen...I just can't tell you how sorry I am. Remember that Willie and I are here for you and the girls...ALWAYS! William was a wonderful man...great husband, father and friend. He will truly be missed. All we can do is keep him in our hearts and try to remember the good times we had and the wonderful things he did in his short life. William will always be with us and we will be able to see and talk with him again one day. I love you very much...never forget that!

Matt and I are so very sorry for your loss. Losing William has been very hard on everyone that knew and loved him , we still love him very much ! He was one of Matt's oldest and most certainly dearest friends and made his own special place in my heart as well . He was a very good man with a great big heart and everyone should be so lucky to find a love like yours . To William's famiy, I didn't know him very well, but knew the crew he worked with at Northrop Grumman. William always spoke when I saw him, and I can say that his shipyard family will miss him very much. They have all spoken so highly of him.
