In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I was deeply sadden to see that Mr. Foster had passed. The picture in the newspaper reminded me of the smile I always saw. He supported our Phillips Athletic Association (PAA) for many years by always having the Spratley gym open and ready for use for our basketball program and more recently our indoor soccer program. He never minded doing the little extras to get ready for our registrations and having goals and score clocks ready for our games. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. My condolences along with others associated with the PAA program go out to his family and friends.

Sincerely,
Kathy Cato

Fos,

My heart is heavy man. You are still here as far as I am concerned and I feel your support and protective nature daily. We could not have accomplished what we did at Spratley had it not been for you. Ironically, I never recall you saying no or making an excuse. You just got the job done. You cared about every aspect of the school program. You believed in our kids and in turn, they believed in themselves. You made sure SMS was spotless. It was personal for you. Fos, I miss you. I cannot believe you are not here. I told you I would call you back when we talked the other week. Fos, I am calling you back to tell you that I love you and my family and this community loves you. I hope we illustrated that daily.

My sincere prayers to the Foster and Wood family. You gave this community an angel and a provider.

We are forever thankful.

Mr. Foster was a wonderful person. I met him while working concessions and having AAU basketball practice at Spratley Middle School. He always said "yes" when we called for a practice gym and when he came to let us in it was always with a "big smile". He will truly be missed. My prayers go out for his family.

Mr. Foster was a wonderful person and cared a lot for kids. I looked forward to having concession stands at Spratley for AAU when our boys was younger because Mr. Foster open up the school and himself for anything we needed to make our concession for AAU fundraiser a success. He allowed our team to practice there when no one else would. I recently had a very nice conversation with him when I seen him at the VA hosp. Mr. Foster we will miss you very much. My condolences to his entire family what a great loss.

To the Wood Family,
Willie will be missed dearly. He was a big part of my life when I was younger and was like a father figure. Just always remember, What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
May God Bless all of you & you will be in my thoughts & prayers.
