Children of Willie M. Banks (Shervonne Banks, Kentrail Banks and Ezekiel Banks). We are ever so grateful to each and every person who thought of our family in such a great time of need. Your sympathy and thoughtfulness will always be gratefully remembered and deeply appreciated. We would like to thank our dedicated Grandmother, Lillie Rodgers-Patterson for effortlessly taking care of our mother during her entire four year battle with cancer and keeping us "children" rooted and grounded. Second, our aunt and uncle, Vilillie Carroll/Jimmy Banks for the ultimate sacrifie (words can't express our gratitude). Third, to Elder Leon Pierce for helping us to refocus on what's more important during a time like this, "our own salvation." Fourth, to our employment families: Howmet, Cannon, Gateway, and the Hampton Department of Social Services. We read every card and was thoroughly supported by your encouragement and kindness. Fifth, Dr. Irvin and Dee for your bedside manner and unbelievable assistance during our mother's illness. Sixth, Troy for being a wonderful "step-dad" and "companion" to my mother. Lastly, to GOD almighty. When every health profession only gave her six months to live, you shook your head and gave us four more years strong.
Thank you ABD, Adult Services, Riverside Hospice (Julia), Nickelson-Cummings for an outstanding job with my mother's preperation and Love -I can always count on you to be there for me and that's what makes you so special!

To My Mother,
To be the only daughter made in the likeness of you is oh so special! I thank my trusted stars to have had the opportunity to have known, loved, and shared so many memories with you! I have so many emotions going through me at this time but the one that matters the most is the emotion of "elation." To know that you won't have to suffer anymore is the greatest feeling that I could ever display selflessly! "Your little woman" remember that? I do. With that very intimate title, I shall continue to propser and take care of your "little men" (my brothers) the same way you would if you were still here. I love you with all of my heart and that will never change! I promise to keep your memory alive!

If I Light a Candle
If I Light a candle
Will you find your way back to me?
If I leave the light burning brightly in the window
Will it help guide you too see?
If I light a candle
Will it burn away the hurt and pain?
For I really miss you
Forever in a Day
Since you can't cross back over
To this life on this plane we call Earth
I will forever burn a Candle for you
Deep within my heart.
