Randolph Alexander Raines Sr. Obituary
YORKTOWN - Randolph Alexander Raines, Sr., passed away February 26, 2014. He was the husband for 58 years of Mabel Tripp Raines, and the son of the late Lurl Alexander Raines and Nettie Richards Raines. He was predeceased by his sisters, Margret Howell and Thelma Marie Spivey and his brother, Alton Raines. Survivors include his son Randolph A. Raines, Jr. and wife Kimberlee, of Suffolk, VA; his beloved grandchildren, Randolph A. Raines III (Trey), David Graham Raines, and William Austin Raines; and his sister, Martha Jean Milteer. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Naval Weapons Station Yorktown as Head of the Weapons Maintenance Division in 1991. He belonged to the Poquoson Masonic Lodge: No. 49, Newport News Scottish Rite, Khedive Temple, Peninsula Shrine Club and member of the Khedive Oriental Band. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday March 8th, at 11:00 a.m. at Amory Funeral Home, 410 Grafton Dr. Yorktown, VA with a visitation following the service. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery, North Main St. Suffolk, VA. The services will be conducted by Dr. Ruffin Alphin, Senior Pastor of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/donate.
