TOANO - Mary Agnes Bushman Slowikowski, born on August 19, 1920, Ottumwa, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home, in the company of her loving family. She graduated from Ottumwa Heights Academy on May 30, 1938 and served in the Woman's Army Corps at Ardmore Air Force Base in Oklahoma, from March 10, 1945, until the unit was disbanded. Mary also received an Honorable Discharge on October 29, 1946, from the Department of the Army as a Technician, Fifth Grade. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Bridget McGowan, Father, Lloyd J. Bushman, and her husband, Zdzyslaf Ignacy Slowikowski. She leaves behind her sister, Helen Bushman of Ottumwa Iowa and her sons, Michael Ignatius Slowikowski and Edward Hall, of Toano, Virginia. The family would like to thank Dr. Haggerty, Hospice of Gloucester, as well as Sandra Gunther.
