YORKTOWN - George H. Baldwin, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at home. He was a native of Belleville, New Jersey, and a resident of Yorktown for the last eight years. He retired from Schering-Plough as a Transportation Director after 30 years of service. He was a highly decorated WWII combat veteran as an officer in the Army Air Force. He flew 125 combat missions and was Bomber Pilot of a B-24 in China. He was of the Protestant faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elinore, and his son, Barry. Survivors include his son, Christopher Scott Baldwin; sister, Lillian DiNicola; and two grandchildren, Kristen and Erin Baldwin; and daughter-in-law, Kathryn Baldwin. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson, NJ at a later date. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
