YORKTOWN, VA. - Paul Voigt, 41, passed away suddenly on Sunday March 23, 2014 in Sentara Hampton General Hospital. Paul was a native of La Marque, TX and was a Peninsula resident since 1988. He was a graduate of Hampton High School and was employed with Sec Tek at Langley AFB, VA for several years. At the time of his death, he was employed with Eagle Aviation Technology in Hampton. He strongly felt what made his job at Eagle so rewarding was the friends and co-workers he saw on a daily basis, he had a true love for them all. He had a passion for SciFi games, and he mastered many of them. He joking and playing pranks on people, fishing, cards, and many outdoor activities. Most of all, he just enjoyed his life, his family and the many friends he knew and loved. Paul also had a love for his cat and friend Lord Vader. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Frederick Voigt and a brother, Steven Voigt. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Paul Voigt and her husband Joe Nolan; a brother, Phillip Douglas Voigt of Pagosa Springs, CO; and his best friend and fiance, Trista Wilson of Latrobe, PA. He is also survived by his aunts, Mary Baker (Dean) of Pearlend, TX, Evie DeSoto of Galveston, TX, Rosalyn Sloan (Gary) of Arkansas, Jean Ellen Levin (Danny) of Oundle, England, Angie Paschal (John) of Pearland, TX and Jane Bazinet of Deerfield Beach, FL, who was also his godmother; and stepsisters, Diane Cooke, Rebekah Nolan and Ginny Carnell. A Funeral Mass will be held on at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown, VA. A reception will follow in the church social hall. A graveside service will held following the reception at 3:30 PM in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm in Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
