YORKTOWN - Gladys W. Robinson answered the Master's call on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Riverside Regional Medical Center. Her life's journey began on October 22, 1940, the daughter of the late Lottie and Samuel R. Whitley, of York County, Virginia. She was a longtime member of Grafton Baptist Church - Harris Grove and she faithfully served her church in many capacities. In 2006, she retired from the Colonial Mental Health Services, after twenty-eight years of dedicated service. She leaves to treasure her blessed memories, her children, Ernest L. White, Jr. (Deborah), Vaughn White, Sr. and Katrina Wilson (Ronald); her five grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; her sister, Doris DeGraffenreaidt; a very special caretaker, Myra Lewis-Byrd; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends. A funeral service, celebrating the life she lived, will be held 12:00 noon on Friday, April 18, 2014, in Grafton Baptist Church-Harris Grove with the Rev. Reginald Bagley and the Rev. Wayne Tucker officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 601 Hornsbyville Road by 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Mrs. Robinson may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in Whiting's Funeral Home.
