YORKTOWN, VA. - Harvey "Lee" Hudgins, 84, passed away April 16, 2014, with his loving wife of nearly 65 years by his side. He was born in 1929 at the original Riverside hospital and graduated from Morrison High School, which is now Warwick High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. In 1949 he married the love of his life, Jane Mountjoy. He had a love of any time spent on the Chesapeake Bay on his various "EEJAY's." He was proud to have drawn the house plans for many of the houses located on York Point in Seaford. He was a member of Seaford Baptist Church, where he served faithfully in any way that was asked of him. Lee was a member of Masonic Lodge #205 A.F. & A.M. in Yorktown, and the Khedive Shrine Temple in Chesapeake. Lee is survived by his wife Jane Hudgins; son Steve Hudgins and his wife Cathy; granddaughter Stephanie Lee and her husband Jacob, and their precious daughters Norah and Gabriella; and grandson Michael Hudgins and his wife Emily, stationed at Fort Hood, TX, where he proudly serves in the U.S. Army. Lee is also survived by his sister Margaret Caso; brother-in-law Lloyd Nance; and many loving nieces and nephews; as well as several dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman Hudgins and Hattie Riggins; brother Nelson Hudgins and sister Harriet Hudgins Nance. For the last 2 1/2 years, Lee was a resident of Golden Living Bayside of Poquoson. The family was sustained by the love and devotion of the staff and residents. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 21, at Seaford Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Howard, Dr. Richard Harrell and Rev. Gene Cornett officiating. Interment with Masonic rites will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
