IVOR - Nancy "Cookie" Jones Cook received her wings unexpectedly to her eternal home on Good Friday, April 18, 2014. A lifelong resident of Ivor, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Bertha J. Jones. She was an active member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church. She worked many jobs and retired from Little's Flower Shoppe. Her pleasure in life was taking care of the needs of others be it a card, food or a visit. She was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Lucille Crocker and Ivea Logan. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 53 years, Robert L. Cook; brothers, Robert E., L. Wayne, and Milway, all of Ivor; sisters, Sue Poe of Richmond, Bertha "Curly" Beale of Windsor, Jo Helmstetter of Onancock, Faye Drewery of Surry and Phyllis Bick of Smithfield and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Mill Swamp Baptist Church from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the church with Rev. Jim Jones officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Nancy's memory to Mill Swamp Baptist Church, c/o Rebecca Munford, 8100 Mill Swamp Baptist Church Rd. Ivor, VA 23866. The family is being served by R.W. Baker & Co.
