WILLIAMSBURG - Frankie Moore Snipes "slipped the surly bonds of earth" and joined her Savior on Friday, May 9, 2014. Until the last minutes of her life, she remained in service to others, soothing and reassuring everyone around her of her enduring love. She joins our beloved father, Randolph Snipes. She was a lifelong teacher, who served in many capacities - she served as a Girl Scout leader, a Sunday School teacher, and even worked with our father as a Park Ranger at Sequoia National Park as a bear chaser. She retired from Toano Middle School as a 6th Grade teacher in 2003. She loved creating fiber arts, taking long walks with her dog, Brave, and traveling. She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Fitzgerald of Williamsburg, VA, and Marjorie Snipes of Carrollton, GA, and her grandchildren Myles McKnight, Gracie McKnight, Graeme McKnight, Joseph Snipes, and her son-in-law, Mark Fitzgerald. She lived a life of simple grace. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Frankie's name and memory to a hospice
