WILLIAMSBURG - Theodore D. "Toe" Greenhow went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He was born on January 29, 1928, the son of the late Dorothy Meekins and George C. Greenhow, in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was a longtime member of Chickahominy Baptist Church and he faithfully served his church as a Deacon. He retired from Peninsula Bank, now known as Suntrust Bank and Colonial Williamsburg, after many years of service. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Elihu Greenhow and George Meekins, and a sister, Mignonette Canady. Cherishing precious memories of Theodore are his wife, of 66 years, Martha W. Greenhow; his son, William E. Greenhow; his daughter, Theodora Greenhow-Wilson (Ronnie); his granddaughters, Ronisha and Rochelle Wilson; his great-granddaughter, Kenli Marshall; his Godson, Jairus Wallace. He is also survived by his sisters, Mahilda Brown, Mary Smith, Dorothy Walston and Minge Berkley; his brothers, James Chapman (Myrtle) and Bernard Meekins (Christine); his aunts, Hattie Cox and Pauline Carrington; his sister-in-law, Maretha Greenhow; and a host of other relatives and many caring friends. A funeral service celebrating the life he lived, will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in Chickahominy Baptist Church with the Rev. Corwin R. Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 4697 Centerville Road by 12:00 noon on Wednesday. Deacon Greenhow may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Whiting's Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Riverside Regional Medical Center and Riverside Doctor's Hospital, for the level of care that was extended to our loved one.
