Obituary Condolences

NEWPORT NEWS - Jeffrey W. Curtis, 53, died Oct. 14, 2009.
He was a Machinist Mate First Class for the U.S. Navy with 20 years of dedicated service. He earned the Navy Achievement Medal including the Campaign and Service Ribbons. He was born in Michigan to Aubrey and Helen Curtis. Jeffrey was a member of the Neothink Society of Virginia and he enjoyed camping and fishing and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Justina Curtis and his son, Justin. Jeffrey leaves a large extended family that also included his sister and brothers, Carrie and husband, Tom of New York, Kevin of Nebraska, Steve of Washington State, David of Idaho, Chris of Utah, and Manda and Nancy Curtis, and many other friends and shipmates.
The family will receive friends from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Denbigh Chapel 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, Va. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with full military honors. Internment will be private.
