NEWPORT NEWS - Joyce Godfrey received her wings and was called home to be with the Lord on Feb. 17, 2010.

Known for her warmth and radiant smile, she touched the lives of many people and was an active member of numerous organizations including PTA, Girl Scouts, Sickle Cell Association and Mary Kay.
Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Womack III; and brother, Donald Womack.
Left to cherish and honor the example of the life she lived are her husband, Jay Godfrey; her mother, Claudine Moultrie and her husband, Chris; her precious daughters, Jessica Womack, Jamylia Godfrey; and granddaughter, Zari Womack; her brother, Kenneth Womack; and many more family and friends.
A service celebrating Joyce's life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at First Baptist Church Denbigh, 3628 Campbell Road, Newport News, Va. A public viewing will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, Hampton, Va.
