Lillian R. FOSTER Obituary
DENDRON - God called his daughter, Lillian R. Evans Foster, home on June 17, 2011, after a battle with cancer.
Lillian was born Sept. 2, 1944. Lillian was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wakefield, Va. She retired from the Department of Transportation where she worked as a Deck Hand and was currently employed by the Surry Post Office.
Lillian was preceded by her first husband, Thomas Evans Sr.; son, Thomas Evans Jr.; her parents, Lucybell Rainey and Jessie Rainey; two brothers, Jessie Rainey Sr., and John Edward Rainey; two sisters, Annie Bell Rainey and Edna Maxwell; and her second husband, John B. Foster; and a stepson, Peter Foster.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Helen Shears (Charles), twins, Janet Johns (Johnnie), and Janice Haskins (Kenneth); one son, William Evans all of Surry; stepson, John Foster Jr. (Wilma), Mitiz Malone (Thomas); 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; a host off nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Wakefield, Va., with Pastor Leslie Holloway, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Viewing and visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
