Mr. Cherry was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Cherry-Warren; his father, Ray Armstrong; maternal grandfather, Edward Cherry; his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, who raised him, Lillie Mae Bryant and James Bryant; his paternal grandparents, Jake and Elenora Armstrong.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Latonya Yvette Cherry of Hampton; four granddaughters, Tyletha Cherry, Brittany, Shakira and Shakima Green of Hampton, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Amari Nymere Johnston and Imani Nicole Green of Hampton, Va. He also leaves his two sisters, Glenice Cherry of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Magistrate Wanda Cherry Ashcraft of Newport News, Va.; one niece, Tamiko Cherry of Newport News, Va.; four aunts, Lillie Bea Knight of Newport News, Va., Lossie Marie Dupree of Whitakers, NC., Mollie Lewis (Sam) of Parkway, N.Y., and Anna Dunn of Greensboro, N.C.; two uncles, Eddie Cherry (Shirley) and Morris Lee Cherry of Newport News, Va.; special cousins, Mae Alice Corbin, Roosevelt Key, and Calvin Cherry; special friends, Lloyd A.
