NEWPORT NEWS - Patricia Ann (Redden) Parker entered this world on July 18, 1964, the 8th Angel born to the late Bishop Samuel L. and Mother Dorothy M. Redden, died on Jan. 11, 2012.
She was educated in the Newport News Public School System graduating from Menchville High School. She pursued her love of helping people by earning a certification from Thomas Nelson Community College as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was married in February of 1987 to Mr. Thurman Parker. From this union were born two daughters, Victoria and Patricia. She was also an entrepreneur, opening her first business, a consignment shop and naming it after her first born "Victoria's." She confessed Christ at the Highway Christian Church of Christ under the leadership of her parents, she served in various roles to include Pastor's aide committee, usher board, director of the tiny tot's choir, youth choir. However, she will be most remembered by her beautiful alto voice singing, "There is no Way."
More recently she united with the Strait Gate Deliverance Center under the leadership of Bishop Jerome Rogers, assisting this ministry with hospitality and choir.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memories five daughters and two sons. Victoria Mae Parker, Patricia Olympia Parker, Ashley Shardae Parker, Bianca Antoinette Parker, Ezekial Daniel Parker, ALeveeta Uniquie Parker, James Emmanel Parker; four brothers, Clevelander Kelly Samuel (Callie) Redden, Lucius (Yolanda) Redden of Newport News, and David (Iola) Redden of Hampton, Va.
A celebration of life service for Ms. Parker will be held at Restoration and Faith Ministries, 2114 Wickham Ave., at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, by Bishop Jerome Rodgers. Ms. Parker will be placed in church two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Newport News, Va. Viewing for Ms. Parker will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at the C.C. Carter Funeral Home 3314 Roanoke Ave., Newport News, Va.
