GLOUCESTER - Jane E. Knight, 72, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012.|
She was born in North Carolina and had been a longtime resident of Gloucester Point. Jane retired from the York County Public School System as a cafeteria manager. She enjoyed cooking, and was a loving wife, fabulous mom, and spectacular grandmother.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, J. Wilson Knight.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Knight Thompson and her husband, Bryan of Norfolk; three sons, David Knight and his wife, Maggie of Williamsburg, Matthew Knight and his wife, Jeannie of Wendell, N.C., and Andrew Knight and his wife, Stacy of Suffolk; and her three grandchildren, Rebecca Erin Matous, Shane Wilson Knight, and Matthew Tanner Knight.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.15, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the chapel mausoleum of Parklawn Memorial Park.
