NEWPORT NEWS - Edward R. "Ed" Gaulding Jr., 47, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 19, 2012.|
He was born in Newport News, Va., on Nov. 18, 1964. Ed attended Warwick High School and worked for his family business, Shawels TV and Appliance. He celebrated his life by his love of his family and faith. He also enjoyed his music, fishing, shooting pool, riding his Harley, baseball, playing corn hole at Schooners and spending many hours reading his Bible at the Lion's Bridge. If you knew Ed, you know of his free spirit, his love of life, his big heart and the many hugs that he shared. He will truly be missed by his family and the many friends he made in his life.
Ed was preceded in death by his beloved father, Edward R. "Ray" Gaulding Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Phyllis Miller Gaulding; sister, Cynthia Gaulding Monroe; brother, Brian Jeffery Gaulding; sons, Joshua Ray Gaulding, Jeremiah Ryan Gaulding; Jeremiah's mother, Karen Lynn Daube; niece, Aimee Lane Monroe; and nephew, Noah Brian Gaulding.
The family will receive friends at Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News, Va., on Monday, April 23, 2012, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dale Seeley officiating, followed by a graveside service at Peninsula Memorial Park.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 12716 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606.
