James A. PACE Obituary
YORKTOWN - James A. Pace, 49, an area resident since 1994, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2012, surrounded by his family.
James was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where he served as Director of Discipleship Ministries and was formerly Minister of Education at North Riverside Baptist Church. James had many interests. He loved to garden, paint, do arts and crafts, and would look forward to any new project that would give him a challenge. He always had a smile on his face, a memorable distinctive laugh and spent much time spoiling the "apple of his eye," his daughter, Emily.
Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Rachel; his daughter, Emily; his mother, Pauline Pace of Delhi, La.; two brothers, Don Pace of Pineville, La., and Robert L. Pace of Elizabeth, Colo.; a very loved miniature schnauzer, "Leo" and hundreds of friends he made everywhere he went.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Peninsula Memorial Park, followed by a celebration of James' life at 10:30 a.m., at St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
The family wishes expressions of sympathy be sent to St. Luke's U.M.C. Building Fund, 300 Ella Taylor Rd., Yorktown, VA 23692.
