Willie L. COPELAND Obituary
SUFFOLK - Willie Lee Copeland of 211 Bunch Avenue, Suffolk, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012. He was the son of the late Helen Copeland and Eddie Copeland.
He retired from Newport News Shipyard after 27 years of service where he served as supervisor. He was a member of Pulaski Baptist church and served as a trustee, president of the Usher Board and pastor's aid. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #256 in Holland.
He leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife of 52 years, Ethel J. Copeland; five daughters, Gwanda Spires of Portsmouth, Deirdre Dildy, Felicia Copeland, Regena Hinton (Terry) all of Suffolk, and Julie Little (John) of Hampton, Va.; two brothers, Allen Copeland (Barbara) of Portsmouth and Randolph Copeland of Burkesville, Va.; three sisters, Gladys Russell, Mamie Doris Saunders of New York and Barbara Lawyer of Suffolk; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
His homegoing service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at noon at Pulaski Baptist Church in Carrsville officiated by Dr. Robert E. Rodgers. Interment will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
