PORTSMOUTH - Felicia Marianne Wright went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 31, 2012. She is the youngest of three children born to Kenneth, Sr. and Marion Wright. She is a greatly loved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, goddaughter, godmother and friend. Felicia was an active and devoted member of Queen Street Baptist Church in Hampton for over 30 years. She will always be remembered as a willing worker in God's kingdom as she served tirelessly in the Music, Media and Sunday School ministries. After graduating from Tabb High School with highest honors, Felicia obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Old Dominion University and her Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech. Felicia worked at NASA Langley Research Center for over 15 years as a computer engineer. She was also an adjunct professor at St. Leo University. Felicia was a member of numerous organizations. Among them were the Gospel Music Workshop of America, National Technical Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Professional arrangements are entrusted to Cooke Brothers Funeral Home. An "Ivy Beyond the Wall" memorial service will be conducted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on Friday, January 4 from 6-7 p.m. at Queen Street Baptist Church Worship Center (98 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia 23669). The service is open to the public and viewing will also be at this time. Felicia's Homegoing Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen Street Baptist Church Worship Center. Viewing will be at the church Saturday from 10-11 a.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donation checks may be made out to Kenneth or Marion Wright for creation of a scholarship in Felicia's name.
