RICHMOND - Isaiah Darling, a former resident of Newport News, Virginia, slipped into a blissful sleep and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 16, 2013, in his daughter's home. His life's journey began on June 24, 1945, the son of the late Ruth and Robert Darling, of Crenshaw, Mississippi. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station, after many years of dedicated service. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but we find comfort in knowing he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. He leaves to cherish his blessed memories, his wife, Bonnie R. Darling; his daughters, Stephanie Darling-Lee (Curtis) and Danielle Darling; his sons, Matthew (Norma) and Mark Darling; his brothers, Kelly, William, Bobby, Jr. and Johnny Darling; his sisters, Jessie Jackson, Roxie Penner and Christine Darling; his grandchildren, Daniel, David, Daniela, Noah, Zion, Taylor, Trinity and Isaiah; his nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. A funeral service, celebrating the life he lived, will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013, in Gravel Hill Baptist Church , 5426 Longbridge Road, Henrico County, Virginia, with the Rev. Dr. Ray McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at the church by 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.
