I was saddened to see that BT had passed away. I just met him a few years ago at the funeral home during a visitation. He was the nicest man and very easy to talk to. We had a long wait, so there was plenty of time to chat. I came home and told my husband all about it and how sweet he was. Just a few weeks ago we delivered Girl Scout cookies that he bought from my daughters, as usual he was very nice and welcoming. He kept telling us to come back for more visits. What a sweet man he was. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

As a kid growing up in Beechwood , I remember that Mr. McAlexander was a nice guy . That simple trait shows the deep character of a person. I talked to him forty years later and he was the same nice person . My best wishes go to his family .

It is with grievous news that I learned of the passing of B.T. He was a straight shooter and truely one of the "good guys" that now seems to harken a different era. As anyone who knew him would tell you, he was a great talker and loved to chat with any and all folk he came across. As much as he loved to chat, he was an even better listener, taking pains to hear peoples joys and bothers. While we are all saddened by his demise, it is with great joy that we know he is reunited with the love of his life, Anne. He will be sorely missed and mourned. He will not be forgotton.

Dana and enjoyed B.T. as a wonderful neighbor and friend. We got to know him last summer and are blessed from the experience. B.T. had a passion for life, a natural warmth and orneriness that rubbed off on everyone that he encountered. He always had a gleam in his eye, was ready for action and his stories kept us entertained. My trailer broke down in front of his house last summer and he came out to help and even drove me in his SAAB all over Newport News and Poquoson to get parts. For a guy at 87 years old, he was amazing. One day I showed him my piano keyboard and he proceeded to play a melody of ragtime tunes that were amazing. I was stunned at how good he could play. B.T. bought us the movie "The World's Fastest Indian" which stared Anthony Hopkins and insisted that Dana and I watch it. After doing so, we concluded the movie was about a fella that had a passion for tinkering with engines, motorcycles and made friends with everyone he met, just like B.T. :-)

God Bless You B.T. You will be missed!

Jan,Margaret & John, your dad was a good friend to our family. He was a smart guy,too---I always had the idea that he designed your old house(great den!) and sure talked up engines and car racing with our dad. Glad he finished that motorcycle project. He and Ann will be sorely missed.
