CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA - Cedric Harry Parkinson was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, on Christmas Eve, 1939, and moved his wife and three children to the United States for a new life of opportunity in 1968. He began his career as a wind-tunnel model designer at the British Aircraft Corp. and later joined the Boeing Vertol Company in Philadelphia, PA. "Harry" was the Founder, CEO and President of Advanced Technologies, Inc., founded in 1988 and located in Newport News, Virginia. He spent his life growing ATI, a corporation which specialized in the advancement of aerospace aeronautics to include many successes such as being awarded the prestigious Dr. Alexander Klemin Award, the Howard Hughes Award, NASA's highest award for quality and excellence and also the George M. Low Award, just to name a few. Harry's family, friends and many others, to include the employees of ATI, thank him and admire him for his determination in always "giving back and paying forward" as he was instrumental in converting ATI to an Employee-Owned Company. Harry and Ann retired to Cape Coral, Florida, in 2005. He was an avid boater and Commodore of the Poquoson Yacht Club in Virginia, traveled for many years around the world for both business and pleasure, and was always happiest when socializing and spending time with family and dearest friends. He passed away on Friday, April 5th 2013 in his home after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. He was surrounded and cared for by his loving wife, his three children, and his grandchildren, who came to be with him during his last days. He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Veronica Parkinson, his three children, Kim Parkinson Ostman, Dean Parkinson and wife, Alice, and Samantha Parkinson Pryce. He has seven grandchildren, Jennifer Rafter, Jessica Minor, Courtney Ellis, Cassandra Pryce, Johnny Pryce, Taylor Parkinson and Stuart Parkinson and a great grandson, Rex Parkinson Sharpe.
