HAMPTON - Wallace Lee Parham, 85, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, April 18, 2013, in Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Roger Parham, brother, James, and son, LTC Wallace Lee Parham, Jr. He was born in Norfolk, VA., on March 3, 1928. He joined the military and proudly served for 27 years, including a tour in Viet Nam. He attained the rank of MSGT. prior to retiring. Upon retirement from active duty, he joined the civilian workforce with Alcoa Howmet from which he also retired. Unable to truly retire, Wallace worked part-time with Hertz for several years, before resigning. Wallace is survived by his loving wife Maryland of 61 years, sons Lemuel, Richard (Carolyn), Roger (Zina), daughter-in-law Evelyn, sister, Florence James, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Viewing will be Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 12 noon to 6:00 pm at Cooke Brothers Funeral Chapel.
