POQUOSON - Carroll Fay Forrest, 72, a native & lifelong resident of Poquoson, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in the Sheet Metal Dept. after 42 years, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson. Carroll Fay enjoyed gardening and always offered his vegetables to friends and neighbors. He was an avid Poquoson football and baseball fan, and coached the "Hustler" women's softball team and played on the "Camera City" men's softball team. Carroll Fay was preceded in death by his parents, Sudie & Ernest L. Forrest; brothers, Ernest L. Forrest Jr. and Harold "Peter" Forrest; and sisters, Verdie Firth and Betty Sue Wright. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judi Forrest; son, Robbie Forrest (Carrie); daughter, Angie Forrest Snapp (Mike); brother, Tommy Forrest (Janice); grandchildren, Josh Forrest, Brent Snapp, and Bryce Snapp; step-grandchildren, Robbie Snapp, Travis Holloway, and Elizabeth Holloway; sisters-in-law, Anne Wilson (Glen) and Trisha Perrault (Sonny); brother-in-law, Buck Forrest (Sandy); special nieces, Sissy Wright Everett and Wanda Wright Nixon; and brother-in-law, Herbert Wright. The family will receive friends Monday, 6:30-8:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and other times at 49 Poplar Rd., Poquoson. A Celebration of Carroll Fay's life will be held Tuesday, 11:00 AM, at Trinity United Methodist Church by Pastor Buddy Chapman. Burial will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton.
